Empieza el torneo previo a la celebración del Indian Wells de este 2021 en Chicago. Este año ya se han jugado un par de torneos en Chicago, pero pertenecientes a categorías inferiores, la de 125 y la de 250. Este pertenece a la categoría de WTA 500.
En este torneo podrás ver a unas cuantas jugadoras TOP como Svitolina, Garbiñe, que será la única representante española y entre como 2ª cabeza de serie o Belinda Bencic. También vuelve Camila Giorgi, que ha hecho un pequeño parópn después del US Open, pero ya vuelve para dar guerra como en Cincinnati.
Entre unc uadro plagado de jugadoras locales, también podrás ver a la que fue varias veces campeona de Grand Slam, Kim Clijsters, que entra al torneo por invitacion y vuelve al ruedo después de un año lesionada.
